Drat.
I called for the very first time this toll-free number from my TextMe number but after a couple of rings the call ended without me ending the call. Maybe the call dropped.
So I called just now from my TextNow number and I got put into a voicemail.
I left a message that I need urgently to speak about the $462.35 payment for Bitcoin that I did not make. Please call me back as soon as possible.
I hope to get a callback.
EDIT:
I had not got a callback, so for the second time I am calling again from my TextNow number the (888) 245-2734.
David from Apple Support answered and is on the call now!
888 245 2734 alex didn’t enjoy taking on insult or harassment as they have sent me to the stale recording game for me to call them clowns and let them know to pick up and play scam with me, sometimes they will take on more harassment but would not this time.
Nice! Thanks, @Hviezdoslav and @bgt5WDV! The most peculiar thing is that this TN has been operational on the network of Ring Central for years. I would appreciate everyone’s help telling Ring Central VOIP scum about the scam and pushing them to hold these criminals accountable. Their emails are:
808-731-0247 is a Text NoW number and you can text them. It is a person named “Transgirl Stevens” behind it. I encourage all folks on this forum to text Ms. Stevens and ask her about the mysterious origin of her name!
Public information linked to a number maybe old information since numbers are often reused and moved between carriers too. I’d recommend not posting that information or making jokes about it on a public forum
TextNow number, you may report it via email at [email protected]. You may use the following template
Hi,
I would like to report the following number for fraud and misrepresentation 8087310247.
This number is being used as a call back number for a PayPal technical support scam. Your customer appears to be a fraudster who is impersonating PayPal and is providing fraudulent services and products.
Your customer is operating out of an illegal call center in India.
Got it, thanks! On another note, I am not too worried about the scammers using TextNow, as it happens all the time, and those numbers are frequently disposed of by them (they are free, after all)…
What is most worrisome is that Ring Central on whose network 888-245-2734 is has not acknowledged my complaints yet. I had a rather bad experience with Ring Central in the past. Every single one of my complaints about scammers and spammers on their network before went unanswered.
Still active but they are very quick to hang up now. The one I did speak with was dumber than the average scammer. He called me back from 815-486-5519.
Yes I’m। aware of RingCentral too. They’re another carrier that isn’t the best with fraud reports but they seem to be getting better lately. You may report fraud to Ringcentral at the following addresses
Thank you very much for sharing. I appreciate your prompt response and assistance with this matter. I was unaware of these emails, as they are not easily obtainable (at least, in my experience). If anyone else could help me with reporting this issue to Ring Central, I would great appreciate it!
Yes, some carriers make it really hard to get information on how to properly report fraud on their network. I work with the @demurragereports group that does lots of work with reporting numbers to carriers. We’re working on a project to make some of our tools available publicly in the hope that it’ll lead to more of the scambaiting community to report numbers to carriers.
