1:42 PM Central Sunday 11-Jul-2021 I just called this 805 293 2861 and I am on hold …

Mike is the guy who answered. He is from Geek Pro, independent company. They support Google and Windows and Printers.

I said I have an HP printer Deskjet 3050A. It is plugged into to my laptop. It is not working.

He wants me to go to www.support.me website. I will be charged a fee.

I asked if fee is by the hour. He said it is $300.00 per hour. I asked if they charge in 15 minute increments if I do not use up a full hour. He said yes.

THEN THE CALL DROPPED from my TextNow phone number. I do not know if he intentionally hung up or if the call dropped or what. I am calling back now.

I am still on phone but am sending this post now …

My 2nd call … at 1:49 PM Central I am on hold … We’ll see if I get “Mike” again or someone else … This is the “funky” hold music that I have heard a billion times (it is not the WORST hold music I have heard though — haha) … It is a good thing that there is no video when posting to this site because my shoulders are moving to the funky hold music and I would be ASHAMED, EMBARRESSED, and MORTIFIED if any of you fine folks had to see me trying to move my upper body and shoulders in such an UNGRACEFUL and RIDICULOUS manner …

The same “Mike” answered. I did not know if on the 1st call he hung up intentionally, so after I asked him his name HE asked me MY name. I told him a different name than I did during the 1st call BUT he remembered my voice apparently and called me out on it. Immediately I tore into him of course!

These two calls were from my TextNow. I will try to avoid using my other phone number until necessary. So I will try again from my TextNow and if needed I will try from my other phone number.

Damn, in hindsight on this 2nd call I should have used the same fake name as I did on the 1st call, though he probably would have hung up anyway like he did during my first call after he answered YES on the 1st call to my question about them charging in 15 minute increments if I do not use up a full hour for what he had told me is their charge of $300.00 an hour.

Okay, I AM GOIN’ BACK IN FOR ANOTHER ROUND!

I got for my 3rd call “John”. He asked me my name and I told him my name is Narinder (yes, I thought I might be pushing it to use the fake Indian first name Narinder but he did not mention anything about my fake name Narinder!) …

He asked me which Windows OS I have …

He had me go to www.LogMeIn123.com and I did so.

He asked what I see. I said it took me to some page that has in the upper left section a “Rescue by Log Me In” logo and I did NOT mention yet the same page’s verbiage about entering a 6-digit code and the inactive Start Download button below it. He said to click the “Rescue by Log Me In” and I did so (haha) …

He asked what I see. I said I see a new page, which is true, and I started reading to him the following:

Remote support has never felt closer.

He had been trying to speak while I was reading ineptly the above words and then he said loudly, “No! No! Go back to Google and type in www.LogMeIn123.com”.

I did so and told him I’d done so. He asked, “What do you see?” I said I see the same page as I did in the first place with the “Rescue by Log Me In” logo AND I see a place to enter the 6-digit code and the “Start Download” button thing. He told me to enter 217364. I told him I entered it.

He asked me what I see now. I said I see that I entered the 6 digits like he instructed me to do. He asked if I clicked the “Start Download” button. I said, “No.” He said impatiently, “Click Start Download now!” I clicked Start Download. He asked me what do I see.

I told him that my computer is still thinking and that the little round thing is turning and turning and turning.

Finally he asked again, “What do you see?” I said I finally got to a different page and it says that he is an inept benchod whose mother sells her fat ass for 5 rupees on G.B. Road in Delhi. To my surprise he seemed angry and he started cussing me.

I listened to him for a good minute or two to let him purge himself of his anger, for it is not healthy for human beings to suppress anger. When he seemed to have stopped I laughed at him and informed him that his anger amuses us.

Alas, he hung up.

Sounds like you’re having a fun-filled Sunday

Yes indeedy, @Jhawk!

I cannot believe that one of these guys didn’t blink an eye when I said my name was Narinder!

Well, I WAS having a fun-filled day until just now when I thought I’d take a break and try to assemble my new Hercules MS432B Boom-type microphone stand! Haha, I am not very good at assembling things. I was looking for an instructional YouTube video or some sort of instructions from the internet. There really are not many parts, but still I need STEP BY STEP instructions!!!

@Hviezdoslav Does this vid help you…

Still answering … The hold music song is
called “cold day” … he said his name is Dale
I sez why did your mom name u American
name is she ashamed of her country … I would be
Ashamed of it … Big fat clickaroooo😝

@Jhawk … Thanks, JHawk! Yeah, I was lookin’ at that same video even though it is a different model than mine. It helped me about the upper half of the pole. I figured out the tripod by accident. To make a long story short, via email a kind user in this site and her husband recommended that I get a Shure SM-57 mic. I write songs on the guitar (and play a bit of my electric junior bass) and record them into Audacity. Well, my multi-track recording files I export from Audacity seemed overdriven. So she and her husband suggested the Shure SM-57 mic. I got the Boom stand for it so it will bend down to one of my tube amps. I got also a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 digital interface to go into the laptop. The Shure SM-57 came with a part that screws into the Boom stand. I bought a 20-foot XLR cord to go between the Shure mic and the digital interface. I was using a cheaper microphone without any digital interface, and that cheap mic was several feet from the tube amp. Now I can put this better quality Shure SM-57 mic a few inches away from the middle of the 15-watt tube amp’s 12-inch speaker OR a few inches away from ONE of the TWO 12-inch Jensen speakers in an ol’ 30-watt tube amp.

@Draco … Ha! Dale! Why didn’t yo mama name you with an Indian name? Hey Draco, you could try giving as YOUR first name Kashvi or Prisha or Advika or Akshara! And if the Indian scammer is confused and asks, “What name was that?” You can reply with “Listen to EACH AND EVERY thing” and repeat whatever Indian name you are using (of course in a most haughty tone of voice with an excessive air of superiority).

Okay, I am back on track. I called and a guy answered but he did not say his name. I asked him his name but he did not give it and said in a stern voice, “How may I help you?” I asked, “Is this Dale?” He said, “No, this is not Dell. This is Geek Pro.” Haha I said, “No, NOT DELL! Is your name Dale?” He replied, “No” and asked “Why?” I said that your criminal colleague Dale answered one of my prior calls and admitted IMMEDIATELY that you are scammers. I told him that your criminal colleague Dale IS NOT EVEN TRYING TO SCAM PEOPLE!

Click.

Surprised, still answering calls.

Just made my account to share with you guys.
I called and the guy didnt tell me his name, but he said he’ll call me back in an hour or so.
I’m gonna use my dumb hick accent to throw him off and take as long as i can with the setup because i dont have a VM. (5:00 EST)

If they use a different number to call you back, be sure to report it here.

Still going, have to keep changing numbers and hiding my voice, keep getting the same guy, after I bait him for a while, I’m always commenting about his mother, until he hangs up.

I didn’t have the patience to go through the “pretending that I need tech support” thing so I just started cussing them out as soon as they picked up (ie “I’m looking for the sisterchode that hung up on me”) and after two times I think they blocked my number. Probably not much help to y’all but it does anger them and perhaps if they have to shut down numbers it may still help people in the long run even if I’m not wasting 15-30 minutes at a time.

Used another number and talked to “Richard Harris” for about 12 minutes
#1 878-888-6887 (EXT-810) “Geek Support” Techs called “William” and “Daniel”
I can’t tell if I got him to almost cry, or he’s a really good actor. but I told him to go home to his family and seriously think about how he’s lying to and ruining peoples lives. It almost sounded genuine when his voice cracked and hung up.
