Called from US number, to my number in Canada, regarding SIN number. Automated recording. Hung up after about 3 seconds.

Just got the call again - 13:08 MT. Same Number. Says my SIN is under suspension, and for me to ‘Press 1’ to inquire about it. I’ve now blocked it.

Another call from 1-855-206-7002. Same recording. 17:29 MT.

Last post… As I’ve received no more calls on this ‘scam’, those seem to be the only numbers related to that caller, or this scam. If I get anymore, I will update this post. I recently heard on the news, this is a newer scam, and if you press ‘1’, you get charged with a big bill as the call gets re-routed. Not sure what the ‘endgame’ is. That’s what I understand with this possible scam.

Spoke too soon! Now it’s an unknown number, and it’s even more threatening. Arrested, courthouse, and the whole bit. Still says press ‘1’ now to speak to a rep.

I called the CRA, and double-checked. Here’s the number I got from a real Revenue Canada Rep:
