Got the following SMS: “+1(740) 563-2834-Report now, if you are not.
Your or’der has been completed.
Total amount $525.01(PayPal Account)
Transaction ID: 1JRSSFDIC5T6”

“Kevin Kevin Brown” won’t tell me his favorite color.

Update: After a couple of calls a text back:

“Paypal: Hello, we have received a call from your side but due to some network difficulty it got disconnected so give us a callback at 8156358240 for continue your case further.”

Called 815-635-8240, spoke to Chris in a busy office with loud background noise. He apologized that there “we have many customers calling.” His favorite color is black.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:

  • The scammer will ask for your name before claiming someone hacked your account from Ohio, Texas and California and prompt you to connect to their “secure server” by “opening the Google Chrome” and downloading AnyDesk (ID: 1575154158, listed as “scam likely”).
  • Once the scammer gains remote access to your computer, they will ask you to give them full control and place a password on your account.
  • I was asked to log into my PayPal account, so I played him the bhenchod song.
