Bastards called with an automated message to call them back. The caller ID said Washington State, which means, government office, so I answered. When I called back, I noticed it was scam just by the way they answered the phone. They immediately verified if I was me, which means they have some of my personal info. So, I said, “yes, this is she.” Then they asked if I had gotten a call or a text. BINGO!!! I asked, does it matter? and they hung up lol
I pestted them about 6 times and now I am blocked. BE AWARE!
@IGV1970#146725 Verified as SSA scammers. They are checking numbers in their database and will not talk to you if you are not on their list. That does not mean that you cannot harass them.
@JusticeinTexas#146738 New hangout for Mr. Preston Grubbs - senior DEA Pre-screen done by a Mr. Joseph Gangloff, and not real good at it. Went through the usual stuff, but never really touched on the asset verification form - just transferred me directly to the DEA. Mr. Grubbs got on the line and asked what I wanted. Told him that Mr. Gangloff had transferred me and he was supposed to help me resolve the situation. He asked for the phone number I got the call on, and I gave it too him, but right then my landline rang. He said he would wait, and dang it, it was my Doctor who needed to schedule an appointment. While on with them for a bit, I heard Mr. Grubbs ask if I was still there - although I couldn’t respond. Finished up with the Dr. and discovered Mr. Grubbs had hung up, apparently tired of waiting on me.
I called back and got Joseph again - told him what happened and if he could re-connect me to Mr. Grubbs. Even though it had been less than a minute (more like 30 seconds), he said he was not available and that I should call back in a half hour. I asked if anyone else could help me and he said no, call back in a half hour. So I'll wait and see if I can continue the saga in a half hour or so.
@Otis#146765 Called back and Joseph put me through the asset verification stuff… then he wanted me to take a picture of my ID and text it. Couldn’t really figure out how to to that since I don’t have a cell… would have to get the camera out of the closet, hope it has film, take the picture, run down to the photo processing place, then what? Does the photo processing place have the ability to text pictures? Oh my!
Anyway, i ratted him out when I asked where he was working from (San Antonio), and said "Oh, then you know Col. Jake O'Neil" to which he hung up. Called back and said to get the picture then he would talk, and he wasn't going to answer any of my questions until then. Told him that proved to me he was fake, shame on him, etc...
Anyway, here is his 'direct' line: 210-469-9458
Which also happens to be the number he wanted me to text the photo to.
Tell them the SSA would never require picture of ID. Even they seem to believe that. I have gotten out of sending my picture by saying that a few times.
@vadim#146828 Dang - why didn’t I think of that !?!?!? <evil grin>
I've been calling his direct line back under different CID's and voices - he seems to be getting rattled. One call he answered and I asked if it was Joseph Gangaloff, he said no, so I asked his name - he stumbled for a second and then said his name was Uttam Dhillon (name of acting director of DEA until a few months ago). Then I called pretending to be Brian Williams who was doing a TV documentary on Indian SSA scams and wanted to ask him a few questions. Then I called as a little old lady who had her Target gift cards ready to hand over, but he couldn't remember the case number he had given her so she suspected a scam and hung up.
Maybe someone should text a few choice pictures to him... maybe something with a goat in it ;)
