This number was originally used by Rochester Gas & Electric, a subsidiary of Avangrid that currently serves as a utility provider for Rochester, New York, for TTY calls with deaf/hard-of-hearing customers. The number was recently discontinued in favor of NY State’s TTY service (711), so the number is now in use by Indian scam call centers to offer $100 retail rebate vouchers.
