I just got a newwlaptop and are setting it up. I was trying to log into my gmail and this loud alarm came on. something about some illegal virus activity and a number to call. I could not get out of the site and eventually shou the computer down. The phone number was 1-866-415-4111. The url was http/online-help 281.ga/online-usa.com/call-nov1/index.php
t did not come back when i opened the computer again. Does anyone know about this
Yes. They are extremely prolific tech support scammers. You most likely mistyped gmail somehow and went to a random website. You computer is fine. These scammers have been hit pretty hard. I’ve been offering to go easy on them if they send me a picture of a shoe on their head, but they call me a bloody rat bastard and hang up on me.

It’s more believable if I can go to the site first so when they log on to my machine they see that I actually got the popup
@JHRUF#78208 Now days scammers block people from viewing the ads unless the referrers are set properly. It doesn’t really benefit anyone to include it, and it lets scammers know I’m onto them if I post it.
