I spoke to “Daniel” though he answered only as Coinbase. I asked him his first name and he said Daniel.
Whenever I see your user name @T-Rex, I always think of the song written by Marc Bolan and T. Rex called Bang a Gong (Get It On).

(845) 259-6666 … I’d called the first time from my TextMe phone number.
So I called again from my TextNow number and “Daniel” answered again as I recognized his voice. I tried speaking with a lower pitch in case he recognized my voice. He did not seem to recognize my voice.
Please keep in mind I do not know how the “coinbase” scam works.
He asked how he can help me.
I said that I cannot login even though I know I am using the correct LOGIN information.
He asked my email and I gave him a gmail address that is fake. (Maybe he sent an email while on the phone with me and saw that his email was returned as undeliverable.)
He then asked me what my balance is?
I said I do not know as I do not remember exactly.
He asked when I last put money onto my coinbase account.
I said it has been at least several weeks.
He asked, “Don’t you remember your account balance?”
I said, “No, I do not know exactly my account balance. I know I have at least $300 left on my coinbase account.”
He asked, “How can you not know what your coinbase balance is?”
I replied, “Because I cannot LOGIN to see the exact amount of money that is the balance of my coinbase account. Hence I called you for help in logging into the account.” (I wondered if he was going to give me a URL and try to get onto my computer or cell phone.)
He already was speaking with a tone of superiority. The tone of his voice became at this point a bit angry.
He asked, “Do you want my help or not?”
Of course at this point I laughed and said, “We do not need your help. We know how to bait and/or harass you every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year of every decade that you work, you criminal, stupid, gaping, and stinky sphincter.”
Alas he hung up.
How do these coinbase scammers scam? Do they try to get onto someone cell phone or computer? Do you know by chance, @T-REX or @MajorLeeAwesome?
Geez, this guy is so sensitive! He needs to work on his CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS!!!
These scammers operating through Coinbase employ remote software. They coax victims into downloading files, enabling them to gain access to personal information or assets.

I just don’t understand why when I said I need help logging in he did not try to get on my machine. (I do not have a virtual machine anyway, but I was going to try to bait him as long as possible until I’d have to call him out before I click to allow him on my laptop.)

These criminals do not make sense much of the time!
Their tactics extend beyond mere infiltration; they establish control over your phone or computer, freezing crypto and bank accounts, and seizing everything they can. Even after the initial encounter, victims may continue to receive calls in the future, perpetuating the scam.
