IMPORTANT: If you call this scammer they have a preamble asking if you are responding to call you received press 5, otherwise press another number that varies from call to call. If you press 5 it will say they dont make outbound calls and will hang up on you.
The order of the scams are:
50 or oder
roadside assistance
own lease or rent
saving money on car insurance
Dish satellite TV
addiction - treatment network
If you get to the end you get two new phone numbers
I’ve called this a few times and this place is pretty sophisticated to prevent automated bypass of the gatekeeper system. I skipped the 50 or older and chose the spectrum bundle and the automated system not only tries to prequalify you but asks you to hit a key at the same time.
@k00k00ification#118437 The type of scam/scheme being run from this phone number you have encountered is known as a lead generator, they basically a bill board with only audio. It seems like multiple different business can pay to have their service/product advertised in one of the available slots, and you are correct about the offers changing depending on your caller ID (area code specifically), but also they fluctuate depending on the time of day. It is good to keep in mind though, that there are legitimate offers present in these lists usually, but the majority of indeed sketchy, with hidden charges/add-ons that they don’t specify unless you know to ask.
Many of these phone numbers exist, and they aren't actually run by a different company. In-fact, basically all of them use the same script, or even the same voice recordings. The (now defunct?) company who runs/ran these is known as Comet Media, many different websites come up when this is searched. However, I unfortunately can't even tell you myself which one is the correct company, or if they even have a website. I'll let you know if I can find it though.
