“Sam” falsely claimed an “attempt of hacking” occurred, prompting me to “connect to Microsoft Secure Server” by downloading UltraViewer from helpme14.com (IP: 162.214.80.15 ).
- As UltraViewer wasn’t working, I was asked to run ScreenLeap and then UltraViewer. I refused, and was instead asked to download SupRemo (ID: 064 823 264/DESKTOP-MVJO6L7)
- The scammers also use AnyDesk and Zoho Support, dubbed “Technician 1” and “Technician 3” respectively.
- Once remotely connected to my virtual machine, “Sam” asked me to run the “netstat” command in the Command Prompt before transferring me to his “senior technician,” who asked me to restart my computer and throw it out the window.
