These are generally not scams, just herbal supplements…like sleep herds for instance.
They call a bunch of my numbers which are on the DNC, so that’s not legal. From what I read about them, they make unauthorized charges once they get people’s credit cards, and allegedly it’s almost impossible to cancel
Much like what MajorLeeAwesome said, it’s not so much the product as how they sell it.
For example, we have student loan, debt and tax resolution threads kicking around. They on their face are not a scam. However, their use of overseas call centers and purposefully less than transparent sales methods makes this a scammy practice.
Noxitril is sold using this methodology of spamming text messages and illegal cold calling from the Philippians. Furthermore, they wait until after you give them your credit card number for just the shipping and handling of the free trial to disclose you are then signed up for repeat orders of the stuff. I think this is the one where they charge you twice for shipping and handling since they send a pill and a cream. (The line we send you the pill and the cream for $14.99 each for the shipping comes to mind)
