Debit Card Generator ← Used this. Wants CARD NAME, CARD NUMBER, EXPIRATION DATE, ZIP CODE . If donation doesn’t go through, it’ll ask for another card. If it still doesn’t go through, it’ll ask if you want a Donations Envelope thingy - It’ll then ask for your STREET ADDRESS. If you give a fake address, it’ll tell you it’s going to put your number on the DnD (DO NOT CALL) List. It’ll claim that the call was funded by the NATIONAL CANCER ALLIANCE PACK and it’ll give you some website (Said it too fast, I couldn’t catch it).

Everything of interest gets recorded, but I rarely have the time to revisit these PAC numbers
Perhaps there are others who do have the time to stick it to these thieving shits

The most recent one of these I got (on my cell phone) was from the “National Committee for Volunteer Firefighters PAC,” on 02/04. I wasn’t able to record it. I also got one on 01/27 from the “Breast Cancer Relief Committee PAC.” It was a missed call, but when I looked up the number (888-905-3759), there was one 800Notes report and two Robokiller reports that said who the caller was.
When I called it just now, I first talked to “Courtney” (she sounds kinda cute, for being an AI and all) and then to “Debbie” (also cute, but an AI) in the “records department.” I asked Debbie if they were a charity, and got some malarkey about the “American Coalition for Crisis Relief.” (She didn’t claim they were a charity, but an IRS “527” political action committee.) “She” asked for my card number, but I told her “I don’t do plastic,” and gave a p.o. box where they could send a donation envelope.
The Daily Beast and OpenSecrets[dot]org have done some digging into these “faux charities” and fake PACs.
William P. Barrett writes the New to Las Vegas blog, and he has a long list of these sketchy organizations. Maybe if these cheeseballs were ruled to be neither a PAC nor a charity, and lost their tax exemptions, they’d also lose any exceptions they might under the TCPA, and could be sued for all their bleeping robocalls.
And here’s the one that called my cell phone this morning: 877-838-1363. I missed the call (I think they hung up pretty quickly, while I was trying to get my recorder going), but I called back and got the same “Catherine/Katherine Smith” routine. She and the other AI in the records department might take a qhile to answer questions, because the drone operating their sound board has to choose the right response. I was trying to get one of tem to say they’re a charity (which they’re not), but they stick with the “political committee” line.
If you get the “I completely undertand. I’ll put your number on our do not call list” response to something you say, you probably won’t be able to call back from that number.
These leeches change names, addresses, URLs, and phone numbers like changing socks.
This is from the “National Cancer Alliance PAC” contact page: “If you receive a pledge confirmation in the mail, you might notice that you are asked to send your contribution to a different address than our corporate office. That address is the mail processing point for our fundraising campaign.” Riiiiight.
