Yes, what I suspect is happening is that these Pakistani robocallers are “lead generators” who will send you to a shitty and shady US entity that buys their illegally generated “leads”. Their US handlers are probably aware of robocalling taking place, but they don’t give a damn, because their lead generators (such as Sansom) are overseas and are therefore escaping liability. I also believe that these foreign lead generators are listening in on the calls, in order to obtain confidential information of their victims. It is then likely used for various nefarious purposes and is sold on the Dark Web. Therefore, it is a sort of a “double whammy” for them: they make money off their illicitly obtained “leads” AND they possibly steal or sell (or both!) confidential info of their victims.
Yes, that’s exactly what’s happening. They get paid for every call they connect. That’s why they are so aggressive, and the American agents are assholes.
I think I have encountered the listening in part and have a similar theory. In many cases fake information I used while talking to a domestic company made its way back. Effectively, receiving a call from scammers who had this information I gave out months ago.
I think I am just excited about the prospect of these lead generators scamming the companies paying them for leads. I just love it when someone in these call centers coaches me before connecting knowing these idiots are screwing over the hand that feeds. At least the domestic side gets scammed in their own way.
Very good and valid points! Not to mention, vicarious liability still applies. Their American “handlers” can hide all they want behind the backs of Pakistani, Indian and Filipino spammers. The truth will ultimately be revealed, and they WILL get sued into oblivion. After all, the US firms behind these schemes are the ultimate “principals” who benefit from them. It is not exactly “easy”, since they tend to be very defensive and hide their identities, but it is doable. I just settled for a nice amount with one company like that. If you ever find out who their American handlers are, please post their names here.
Also, these idiots at (657) 315-1092 and (786) 358-9765 block fast. However, I have 6 various numbers to call from and keep changing them, too. So, when they assume they got rid of me, I am immediately back at it! Hahahaha!
I do the same using a lot of numbers and they have no idea where to start when they get 8 calls thrown at them in a split second… What they do know is how to scream though
Yup well aware as I’ve been around here for years. If I didn’t log off from text now I would probably get 60-80 calls a day. It’s nice that I can disconnect any time I want.
Overall, I blame two parties here: 1. Their US-based handlers who profit off these schemes. Often, these are so-called “Medicarians” who sell all sorts of BS Medicare supplements, genetic testing and other nonsense that nobody really needs. 2. US VOIP carriers, such as Peerless Network, Onvoy, Telnyx etc. who appear to turn a blind eye to illegal never-ending harassing robocalls. They could put an end to it real fast, but they won’t, since there is a ton of money made from the robocalls.
Well, and of course, our beautiful and honest government, especially FCC and FTC who barely enforce the laws to stop it.
Yes and the only way around it is reporting and keeping their lines busy. They will end up learning the hard way. I’ve made the fake donation scam from the national police PAC turn to use bots nowadays. They used to answer with real people when I first smashed them out over and over again after discovering new numbers on NomoRobo daily. Them using bots is a sign of the stress this might have caused.
Nice! I am seeing a ton of scamming PACs everywhere. People should stop donating to them, period. You can’t really tell for sure what’s a real PAC and what’s fake, so why bother?
