Bandwidth like offering this number around to various scammers by the look of it.
Not really surprising as many numbers, particularly toll free are brought out of their slumber for various refund and tech support scripts.
The Indian IRS/CRA/HMRC/ATO scams were rife for many years.
It’s one of the scams that doesn’t get regurgitated much any longer, probably because it was exceptional nonsense which the citizens of all the western nations they targeted became well aware of it and the success rate became very rare.
I’m surprised the typical SSA scam, which has a success rate well below 1% still makes sometimes daily appearances by groups of scammers trying their luck with tired old scripts, stockpiles of abandoned 2010 black Toyota Corollas and more consignments of 22 pounds of cocaine to be the envy of any narco-country cartel
