Geek of States, Indian Microsoft impersonators

I thought he said they don’t pretend to be Microsoft?

The numbers listed on Vonetel’s website are:

  • (913) 325-9757 (T-Mobile, voicemail)
  • (800) 574-9469 (Iristel)

Additionally, their BBB listing includes the T-Mobile number (913) 244-1007, which is the personal phone number for their owner/CEO David Emerson.

The company has also accrued a negative review on Yelp for facilitating Microsoft technical support scams with payments made through PayPal. Similar 1-star reviews were made on their BBB listing, so it’s highly likely that they are the same company.

I have also found the toll-free Iristel line listed on the BBB listing for “Microsoft Support Center Nevada” and that Vonetel has been listed on the BBB scam tracker for facilitating tech support scams with CHILD PORN as a scare tactic.

Seems like Iplayable Limited is no stranger to scam ads, as indicated by a Reddit post from two years ago.

My name is Brian, and I’m the Marketing Head at Geek Of States and live in Kansas City. Recently, we’ve been receiving increased attention from this platform, including a surge of unwanted calls from so-called “scambaiters.” I’d like to clarify a few important points and provide some context around what’s been happening.

Over the past few years, a new type of operation has emerged in the scam ecosystem—call vendors. These entities generate high volumes of inbound calls and sell or distribute them to various scam centers, typically on a per-call basis. To attract buyers, they run aggressive campaigns, often impersonating well-known brands like Microsoft by misusing domains such as microsoft.com or learn.microsoft.com. They frequently rotate phone numbers—sometimes daily or even hourly—and launch hundreds of ads every day to generate thousands of calls.

We have been approached repeatedly by such vendors over the past few months. In several instances, they have pressured us to purchase leads from them, even suggesting that if we refused, our number would be posted on scam-reporting forums. We have recordings of these interactions. Based on what we’ve observed, some of these groups misuse platforms like this to target businesses that do not cooperate with them.

Now, addressing Geek Of States directly:

  1. Consistency of contact details
Unlike many of these operations that constantly change phone numbers, we have used the same toll-free number since day one. The posts referencing us began around December 2024, yet our contact details have remained unchanged.

  2. Physical presence
We operate physical offices in both the United States and Canada. Customers can visit us in person, and we have dedicated staff at these locations. We are not an anonymous or virtual-only operation.

  3. About certain users/posts
Some accounts repeatedly post only about “Microsoft scams” and follow a clear pattern. We believe certain posts may be driven by individuals connected to call-vending networks, though readers should evaluate all claims critically.

  4. Advertising practices
Around mid-2024, we observed a sudden surge of ads impersonating Microsoft using high-authority domains. This significantly impacted legitimate advertisers. As a response to remain competitive and visible, we adapted our advertising strategy. Regardless of the landing source, we clearly identify ourselves as Geek Of States within seconds of any interaction.

  5. Why we are not a scam

    • Same toll-free number for over 5 years

    • Established physical offices in North America (with expansion planned)

    • No use of gift cards or cryptocurrency—payments are processed via credit cards, which provide consumer protection and allow disputes if a customer is dissatisfied

We understand the importance of vigilance in this space. At the same time, it’s equally important to distinguish between anonymous, rapidly changing scam operations and established businesses with verifiable presence and accountability.

NOW AN UPDATE

google recently invited us to address all concerned in march 2026 and already confirmed that they are implementing major changes this month and you wont see any tech support scam as soon as from this week on google , like all printers and antivirus scam ads

i request @admins to have some checks before any Indian just creating a random account and posting shit without any checks

look at the @Mafiaking timeline a indian scammer only posted about other comptertior creating a problem form him to sell his calls

i will upload few recording as i requested them from our admin

PS;- we are creating a great support experience for north American people so they can talk to americans and canadians to get support .

also i also signed up using temp email so wont come here to post again. Thanks

First half of message written by A"I", second half written by a human…

The proof is in the posts right above. Ads and Google Maps/Business listings claiming to be Microsoft. No legitimate business would do that. The rest is just whining from “Brian.”

While this would clearly violate our Terms of Service, there was no evidence provided to support your claims save for “trust me, bro.”

When @Jim first posted about your company, the number you had used was (800) 966-0046, which I had verified as belonging to your company. Your number has recently changed to (800) 582-2099, which has been picked up as Geek of States.\

Additionally, a number of yours I had found belonging to your company in the past was listed on Google not as Geek of States but as “Microsoft Support Center.”

While you do have some sorta physical office in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, your website lists a single-family residence in Shawnee, Kansas as an office location, despite the address being listed for Vonetel, and your Bizapedia listing shows a physical address of 30 N. Gould St., Sheridan, Wyoming, which is tied to countless other scam organizations we have exposed in the past.

This recording from @Tillianne says otherwise, with an agent of yours trying to remotely connect to her computer via QuickAssist so he can get rid of “hackers” for $200.

@Tillianne posted a half recording just to established a fake negative and i will post the other half

and all the phone number listed above are active till today .

next post from me will have bunch of recording .. stay tuned while i gatther this information for you.. wyoming address is registererd agent adress and we dont have control over

any google listing and ads is to couter these microsoft.com, learn.microsoft ads from these call vendors as thats the only way to be exist againest that level of scam ads

The only thing false around here is your AI-generated claims. We’ve disputed you guys before, and I’ll gladly do it again.

So you admit that you buy misleading advertising that claims to be “Microsoft,” including the windows logo, the word “Microsoft,” and nothing about “Geek of States” or Vonetel.

Since i am markeing head so i am the right person to answer this question

we advertise and sell microsoft 365 and we pay a huge one time amount to microsoft as partner to get these license in bulk .. how you can sell a microsoft product without using Microsoft name in ads ?

before being overconfident please confirm @Tillianne why she did not uploaded other recording

Many companies sell Microsoft products. You claim to be the “Microsoft 365 Center.” Google Карты

The first is business. What you do is fraud.

Your website also appears to sell McAfee and Webroot plans, despite those companies being completely separate entities from Microsoft.

Also, didn’t you say this post was gonna have a “bunch of recording?” I see none in this particular post

As I wrote before:

Even if this “Brian” guy produces other audio files, what would they prove? That Geek of States does not always scam every caller in every phone call?

No legitimate tech support professional would hear a caller’s complaint about a virus popup and proceed to state that there were hackers in the computer that required a remote desktop connection to fix (and $200!).
