Kevin McCarthy whipped votes against the infrastructure bill, and he voted against us himself. Obviously, I did, as a fiscal conservative. Then the person said, well, he voted for the omnibus bill. That $1.7 trillion of absolute cow dung, pardon my vernacular, but that’s what it was that Nancy Pelosi put forth. And that’s not true either. We whipped votes against that bill, and there were only nine Republicans that voted for it in the House. I was a vociferous no. Ken McCarthy voted no on that, too. So we just want to make sure that folks are getting the right information and the facts. And then someone else said, well, he’s a friend of Nancy Pelosi. I know for a fact Nancy Pelosi and Kevin McCarthy loathe one another. I think they would definitely both admit that. Anyway, that’s where we are now. There’s also a process. The process to elect a speaker begins in the conference, whether it’s the Democratic conference, if they’re in the majority, or the Republican conference, if we’re in the majority, which we are now. And we had that process take place, I think it was in November, and Kevin McCarthy won that vote 188 to 31 85%. That wasn’t Andy Biggs ran against them. And I love Andy Biggs. We serve on the Oversight Committee together as a dear friend, and he’s a great conservative, and he endorsed me in my reelection. But that’s not a serious challenge when you throw your hat in the ring a day before the election. It takes time. And also, one of the quivers that Kevin McCarthy at, one of the arrows rather, in his quivers, was he went to 47 different states, raised a half a billion dollars to defeat Democratic candidates, to defeat socialism, and we did win the majority.
