Don't use your real phone numbers to scambait

But if you call from a prepaid number, they can’t trace it. They can find info as close as your service provider is located

Firertc limit cant be bypassed, textnow needs google account over here, any other ideas that need no payment?

@MrSnake#68111 You could try Skype, even thought Skype isn’t the best either, since you can only call US + Canadian numbers for free if they are toll numbers.

@BanterousSor#53229 what if I use *67 :smiley:

No, *67 does NOT anonymize the call. This CAN be traced to you! Do not use for baiting!

@Fyack#124312 *67 does not work against toll-free numbers. Most cell phone carriers will slap your ID back on to the SIP headers when sending calls to TF numbers out.

This service also available to commercial customers using NTF numbers. Telecom companies don't talk about it but it's standard in the industry to do this for business customers (and scammers pose themselves as businesses when signing up for telecom).

@Fyack#124312 this was already stated 67 doesn’t work

Yeah - at one time I was pretty much untraceable online. Then I decided to breed horses and join Facebook. Then I opened a couple of sideline businesses so now my phone number and my name can be found. I think most of us can fairly easily.

I recently delisted my email address (thought I'd made my profile unsearchable - but a casual acquaintance recently searched me up, so clearly not) with Facebook as one of my businesses competes with my job (I am very careful to keep them separate) and i didn't want to make it easy for my employers to find my Facebook and Facebook business page - so that will do them nothing if I respond that way - but I like my email address - and do not want it spammed.

I'd be worried about them finding my IP as well - not cause they can find me - but because I'd be worried about DDos attacks.

Actually - now that I think about it - it's kind of disconcerting how easy it would be for a determined individual to put all the pieces together and pull up at my door. Maybe I need to invest in separate business numbers from personal as that's the mostly weak point.

Textnow and 2nd line for me
