Based on the pattern of charging 4 times the standard amount for a refund due to a cancellation beyond the customer’s control, it does seem like a scam and asking for more money after booking also seems deceitful.

In May 2017, BBB confirmed that Direct Lodging has not obtained a necessary Sellers of Travel license with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Such a license is required in the State of Florida for businesses offering Travel Bookings services.
100% a scam have at it.

U can have HQ in a aptcin Florida what if i called Nautica apts where this is and inquired wonder what they would say. Are there laws about HQ as far as in a house?

I am familiar with Panchkula city. It is near Chandigarh. Chandigarh has several travel related scam centers.

I guess the real question is this: Do they have a foreign LLC designation in a state in the U.S.? If yes, then they can hire a lawyer with the morals of Saul Goodman from “Better Call Saul” to send out some nastygrams. It is then up to individuals to decide whether to comply or ignore.
