@Philmuhcrackin#43202 It goes into the same folder that holds the .py file.
@ScamArrest#43207 ok finally working successfully however on the last part of the script numberguru website accuses you of being a bot haha.
@ScamArrest#43037 @Philmuhcrackin#43202 Oh, way cool. I use Windows 10 on my main computer. I have been watching your interaction with Phil so if I run into any of the problems, ha, the answers are already there. I will try it tomorrow or next week. It all depends if we decide to go to the range tomorrow. I need practice with my AR and Glock17. I hate not to go at least once a month! My two favorite things, scambaiting and guns. Or maybe it is guns and scambaiting? Hmmm…hard choice!!
@jmckinney92#43000 Good for you! I hope it was the same creep. ; )
Seems this number 202-803-9000 is real IRS
@JusticeinTexas#43253 havent been to the range in a while with a kid on the way (lots of painting and manual labor) but plan on it soon but im a glock 19 guy :). If you have any trouble getting it running in windows let me know if i can help now that i have it working. I have a feeling it will be much easier to set up on my linux machine.
@drwat#43301 Yes, I haven’t had a chance to verify the numbers. While the number might exist on some sites as complaints, the reports will also include spoofed numbers. We are working on an ‘exclude’ provision where certain numbers will be excluded from the reports, especially where the number is found to be a spoofed number.
@JusticeinTexas#43255 Glad you can give the .py file a whirl soon. We will have some new features in it soon, so standby for updates. Tough call on the guns - vs- scambaiting thing. LOL!
@Philmuhcrackin#43307 Please share with me your revised .py file. We are going to be starting some new features (such as scraping from this site, ability to exclude certain numbers from appearing in the report, etc). Also, we are going to change out the "Carrier" section to use Twilio Carrier Look-up tool instead of NumbersGuru, which appears to post all the wrong carriers. (GRRRRRRRR) Soon, we will also be working on auto-notifying the carrier via email about the scammer. But if you have improved the .py file we should test it and then add our additional feature to that file.
@ScamArrest#43037 For some reason my script has stopped working and no longer is completing. Looks like it gets caught up in the 800notes part of the scrape so no excel sheet…not sure why either
@Philmuhcrackin#44474 I have that happen once in a while too. When it happens please reboot your computer. For some reason a reboot fixes the issue.
